If there's one thing I've learned as a learn-it-all - you don't have to learn it all at once!
We will be in our final exam period over the next couple weeks at Stetson University College of Law. Our class just had our last meeting where we reviewed what we've learned over a few short months here this semester and it's a lot! But I've been able to appreciate the nuance and complexity of some of the topics we covered this semester because of great faculty and experienced classmates who contributed to some really insightful discussions throughout the course.
I wouldn't have been able to do that if I tried to rush through the material and take more courses than I could really manage this term. As with a lot of other things in life, I've learned to pace myself in my studies so I can keep building on what I've learned in the past while balancing time with my other professional and personal commitments. Time management is, of course, something I continue to hone even after decades of practice. Learning it all takes time, whether it is for work, school, family or all of the above - but you can somehow find the time when it is important enough to you.
And for the first time in a long time, I am looking forward to an actual summer break! (Academically speaking, at least) No classes, just enjoying finally celebrating graduation with my classmates from Johns Hopkins University, making progress in some of my other favorite hobbies, and catching up on quality time with friends and family.
While it can often feel like the clock is always running and progress needs to be made, sometimes the most important thing you can do to process all you've learned and how best to apply it is just stop the clock and enjoy the pause.
